I'm Cass Vincent, a multi-disciplinary artist. My independent work explores themes of beauty found in darkness and decay, examining personal reflections on pain and joy, while constantly asking: where have we come from? and where are we headed?
In 2024, I launched CementressArts, focusing primarily on sculpting in cement, utilizing techniques like cement drape, and experimenting with various non-fired clays. Through my work with CementressArts, I aim to create event sculptures that foster a genuine connection through art that is tangible and experienced in the real world, rather than just on a screen. My mission is to celebrate the artistic process and delve into the intersections of past and future, imagination and reality.
For 2026 I have a painting at Nevada Fine Arts in Reno, NV based on a sketch I used to sculpt the Cyborg Artifact (image on right). The Cyborg Artifact will be on the Feature Creep online gallery. I will have a piece in "Fairy Tales" in July, curated by Jaime Ransome, and another in Valley Cottage Library Gallery in September. Pieces for purchase will be at the Arts Mid-Hudson Duchess Handmade Pop-up and Cirque du Creep (Oct.). I am also jazzed to be a 2026 OCAC SAP grant recipient

I am just as drawn to images of our human past as our human future. One is partially known, while the other is still being crafted. I contemplate the rapid developments in technology and the ethical questions that arise from them. This reflection leads me to wonder what our artifacts will look like to future generations. Instead of the celebration of the human form seen in Greek and Roman sculptures, will our artifacts represent a combination of the organic and the mechanical, or perhaps even the alien? Will there be a distortion of the human experience? And will that be a chosen or forced path? I don’t reject the digital world but seek a thoughtful connection with it that allows for respect toward the natural world that birthed it. I envision tangible sculptures that retain their essence, lingering even when the plug is pulled, reminding us of our shared humanity.
