CementressArts alien face artifact at Fuller Moon Fest
I am just as drawn to images of our human past as our human future. One is partially known, the other still being crafted. With the rapid developments in technology I found myself contemplating what will our artifacts look like to future generations? Will our fossils be a combination of the organic and the mechanical? I began sketching partial faces that I made into sculptures. Broken pieces of future statues with alien and cyber-inspired features. I don’t reject the digital world, but rather seek a thoughtful connection with it that allows respect for the natural world that birthed it. Tangible pieces that don’t disappear when the plug is pulled.
CementressArts came out of a desire to create art that is solid, experienced in the real, celebrate process and explore the junction between past and future, imagination and reality.
